Tips on proper storage and handling of bread in hot and humid weather
- Packaged sliced bread should always be kept in its original packaging, tightly closed with the “Kwik-Lok” tag
- Bread keeps fresh longer at room temperature when stored in a cool, dry place that minimises exposure to the direct sunlight and humid environment.
- "Use By” date on the “Kwik-Lok” tag indicates the recommended date that the bread should be consumed. However, improper handling and storage of the bread may encourage mould growth before the stated “Use By” date.
- Avoid storing bread in refrigerator as bread stales quickly in domestic refrigerator. The freezer is the most ideal place to store bread when keeping it frozen and to be consumed beyond the “Use By” date.
